Noah Wyle Takes People's Sexiest Man Alive Crown For 2026

Noah Wyle, star of ER and The Pitt, has been named People magazine's Sexiest Man Alive for 2026, succeeding Jonathan Bailey.

Noah Wyle, 55, has been named People magazine's Sexiest Man Alive for 2026. Best known for his role as Dr. John Carter in ER and his acclaimed performance in HBO Max's The Pitt, the actor and director admitted he initially thought the announcement was a prank.

Wyle told People he expects to take considerable ribbing from friends and family, adding that he hopes the title brings "wine and roses, milk and honey." He also revealed a few personal quirks in the interview: a habit of Instagram shopping, a hatred of being late, an irrational fear of maggots, and a self-described talent for catching flies with his hands.

His role in The Pitt has brought significant recognition, earning him a Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Drama Series, two Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actor in 2025 and 2026, and two Writers Guild of America Awards. Season 3 of the show is set to premiere in January 2027.

Wyle succeeds Jonathan Bailey, last year's title holder, and joins a list of past winners that includes George Clooney, Idris Elba, Chris Evans, and Harrison Ford. The title, first awarded to Mel Gibson in 1985, marks its 41st year.

The People edition featuring Wyle is out on 9 November.
