Diver Assisted At Ċirkewwa After Getting Into Difficulty

Emergency services received a call yesterday afternoon reporting that a diver had got into difficulty in the sea off Ċirkewwa, and a medical team was dispatched to the scene.

The diver was found to be unwell following a dive in the area. He received initial treatment on site before being transported by ambulance to Mater Dei Hospital.

At the hospital, it was determined that the diver had ingested a higher than normal amount of air pressure relative to atmospheric sea-level pressure, a condition that required specialist care.
