5 Arrested in Sweden Over €200,000 Floriana Jewellery Heist
Five foreign nationals have been arrested in Sweden over a €200,000 jewellery robbery carried out in Floriana earlier this year, following a cross-border investigation.
Four men and one woman have been arrested in Sweden in connection with the robbery, which took place at Victor Azzopardi Jewellers on Triq Sant'Anna, Floriana.
The heist occurred on an ordinary Thursday afternoon in March, when the suspects allegedly walked into the shop and made off with a significant haul of jewellery worth €200,000.
Although the robbery itself lasted only moments, the investigation that followed stretched across borders, eventually leading Swedish authorities to the five individuals now in custody.
It is not yet clear whether extradition proceedings are being pursued.
