21-Year-Old Receives Suspended Sentence For Xgħajra Knife Assault

A 21-year-old woman from Ħ'Attard has been given a suspended prison sentence after admitting to attacking a man with a knife at his home in Xgħajra.

Wendy Fava was sentenced to two years in prison, suspended for four years, after pleading guilty to causing grievous bodily harm and to threatening and intimidating the victim. The incident took place at the man's home in Xgħajra during an altercation on 21 December 2025.

Both the prosecution and the defence agreed that a suspended sentence was the appropriate outcome in the case. Magistrate Nadine Sant Lia noted that Fava's criminal record, while not entirely clean, did not raise serious concerns.

The case was prosecuted by lawyer Krista Spiteri Lucas from the Attorney General's Office together with Inspector James Mallia. Fava was represented by Legal Procurator Peter Paul Zammit.
