Matthew Caruana Galizia is currently testifying in court over the murder of his mother and murdered journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia. A document submitted by Matthew contains a note by Daphne Caruana Galizia from 27 April 2017. His mother took note of outstanding matters she had to investigate. The first thing on that list was "Yorgen phone call."
"If my mother hadn't been murdered, of course, all those articles would have been published. Of course, what happened is that a lot of them were published after the murder," Caruana Galizia said as he testified in court.
Other details revealed in today’s session include Yorgen Fenech’s Whatsapp group with former deputy police commissioner called ‘No Valletta No Party’. Matthew Caruana Galizia said he didn’t trust authorities based on the knowledge that the deputy commissioner was known to be friendly with Yorgen Fenech. "After the murder, I realised we were right to act that way. The evidence indicates we were right ... They talked often and had a strong relationship. "
Matthew also alleged that an article published by his mother on Konrad and Sai Mizzi elicited anger among governments ranks. "She said Konrad Mizzi went berserk, those were her words," he told the court.
