A 5 year-old boy and a 23 year-old woman were both seriously injured in a car fire suspected to have been caused by party flares during a celebration of the Labour Party’s electoral victory.
The woman was certified to have sustained serious, life threatening injuries, whilst the young boy also had burns of a grievous nature. A 26-year-old man, the driver of the vehicle, had minor injuries.
A magisterial inquiry seeking to find out the details of the accident is underway.
