Deputy Prime Minister Chris Fearne has announced that the mandatory quarantine period for fully vaccinated individuals in contact with a positive case, only have to quarantine for 7 days.
If you test negative on the 8th day, you no longer have to quarantine. A new swab centre will be set up in Malta & Gozo which gives same-day results.
Quarantine for unvaccinated individuals and those not in possession of a Covid-19 certificate will remain 14 days.
Chris Fearne previously said that the plan was that vaccinated persons will be able to come out of isolation following a five-day period and a negative PCR test, this now not being the case and the duration instead being 7 days.
