The UK has become the first country in the world to approve the Pfizer/BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine for mass inoculation.
The COVID-19 vaccine is the fastest ever vaccine to go from concept to reality, taking only 10 months to follow the same developmental steps that normally span a decade.
The British health regulator MHRA has said the vaccine will become available from next week.
This means the UK is the first country in the world to have a clinically approved vaccine for supply.
