The local traffic enforcement agency has finished the installation process of speed cameras on the coast road that runs the duration of the coast road linking Bahar ic-Caghaq to St. Paul's bay.
The agency has stated that the installation of these units has been done with the signing off of Transport Malta who is working shoulder-to-shoulder with the agency to improve the road's 'security plan'. The agency further stated that the installation of these units came as a result of multiple magisterial inquiries which arose after numerous fatal crashes on the road had occurred.
The cameras have been placed in recurring accident sites to further increase their preventative capability within designated 'black spot' areas. LESA and Transport Malta have both stated their commitment to reducing the amount of accidents that happen on Maltese roads.
