A former AFM patrol boat was scuttled last Saturday off of Żonqor point, Wied il-Għajn, to serve as a new recreational diving site. The “P-33” sank between two already active diving sites, the wrecks of tugboats St. Michael and Melita.
The Professional Diving Schools Association (PDSA) expressed its gratitude towards the Malta Tourism Authority for making the project that had been in the works since 2012 a reality.
Tourism Minister Clayton Bartolo recently remarked about Malta’s need to attract a larger portion of the international diving community, the scuttling of the patrol boat being part of a €250,000 investment which will strengthen the sector and offer new wrecks for the diving community in Malta.
Will you give the P-33 a visit?
